The division of Continuing Education and UCLA Extension announces two leadership appointments — Radhika Seshan, Associate Dean of Business Development and Chief Operating Officer, and Michael A. Buczkowski, Chief Marketing Officer.
As the new Associate Dean of Business Development and Chief Operating Officer, Radhika Seshan oversees business development, financial, administrative and operations of the organization, which has annual revenue of over $70 million.
“Seshan’s appointment is key as UCLA Extension implements its strategic priorities to extend our reach, serve students first, and re-imagine learning,” said Wayne Smutz, Dean, Continuing Education and UCLA Extension. “Her accomplishments and entrepreneurial vision at public and private organizations add strength to our mission.”
Prior to joining UCLA Extension, Seshan served as the Executive Director of Continuing Education programs at Bellevue, College in Washington. She managed a portfolio of 2,000 courses, enrolling 17,000 students. She has extensive, global experience providing leadership to academic, private (Lucent Technologies, AT&T Bell Laboratories), and entrepreneurial organizations (UI Evolution) and divisions, as well as driving and managing revenue growth upwards of $500-1 billion. Seshan holds a Ph.D. in International Economics from the University of Houston in Texas.

Buczkowski was the founder, owner and CEO of Digit Integration in Chicago, an agency known for the hyper-connected “always-on” social world, fusing big data modeling with a technology platform to publish, listen, monitor and measure. Top clients included Elmhurst College and Eastman Outdoors e-commerce site. He was also founder, owner and CEO of the Ignition Network, an agency using automated promotion management where clients included Visa, Capitol One, US Bank, Coca Cola, Kohl’s and MillerCoors. Prior to leading the Ignition Network, Buczkowski served as CEO/President at Leo Burnett/Asterisk where he directed 40 associates. In his strategic branding and marketing career, Buczkowski has helmed and led major accounts for McDonalds, P&G and the University of Notre Dame continuing education and more. Buczkowski is a graduate of the University of Toledo in Ohio.
