100th anniversary year for continuing education division at UCLA
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (June 19, 2018) – UCLA Extension will recognize more than 2,000 graduates at its 2018 Certificate Graduation Ceremony on Friday, June 22, at Royce Hall on the UCLA campus. “Dare to Dream” is the theme of this year’s ceremony as professional certificate awardees are challenged to make the most of their opportunities and push boundaries.
Frank Pearce, Co-founder and Chief Development Officer of Blizzard Entertainment, will give the keynote address. As part of the ceremony, Pearce will receive the professional achievement award for his career accomplishments and contributions to the gaming industry. Blizzard Entertainment, best known for its Overwatch®, Warcraft®, StarCraft®, and Diablo® franchises, is an interactive entertainment company based in Irvine, California, with more than 5,000 employees in offices around the world. Pearce is an alumnus of the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science.
The ceremony spotlights the 100th anniversary of UCLA Extension, one of the largest and most comprehensive continuing education programs for working adults and lifelong learners, with open enrollment and evening, weekend, daytime, and online courses. Certificates for professionals in the arts, business, management, digital technology, engineering, technical management, entertainment studies, education, and the humanities are recognized at the Ceremony. Graduates come from Los Angeles, California, and around the world.
The UCLA Extension Certificate Graduation Ceremony at Royce Hall commences at 4 p.m. on June 22. The livestream begins on YouTube and Facebook at 5 p.m. (PST).
